These terms apply when you engage Escapement for watch repair or servicing. They describe how we work together, what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you as a client.
Escapement provides watch repair, servicing, and restoration for mechanical and quartz timepieces at 460 Silom Road, Suriyawong, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500. These terms apply to all work undertaken at the workshop.
We offer three defined service levels: Condition Assessment & Tune, Service & Water-Resistance Renewal, and Archive-Grade Restoration. The appropriate service will be discussed with you before any work begins.
Prices published on this website represent the starting point for each service level. A written estimate will be provided after initial inspection of your piece. Where the scope of work changes following disassembly, we will contact you before proceeding.
We will not carry out work beyond the agreed estimate without your written or recorded verbal approval. If you choose not to proceed after inspection, a ฿500 inspection fee applies to cover bench time.
When you bring or send a piece to us, we will record its condition in writing. You confirm that you are the owner of the piece or have authority to authorise service work on behalf of the owner.
Any pre-existing damage will be noted on your intake receipt. We will not accept responsibility for damage that was present before the watch was received. Pieces sent by post or courier are the client's responsibility until signed for at the workshop.
Estimated completion times are given in good faith and are not binding commitments. Complex work, parts sourcing, or unforeseen movement conditions can extend timelines. We will keep you informed of any significant change.
Payment is due in full upon collection of your piece. We accept cash (Thai Baht) and bank transfer. We will notify you when your watch is ready.
Pieces left uncollected for more than 90 days after completion notice will be held in secure storage. After 180 days without contact, we reserve the right to recover costs by other means, as permitted by Thai law.
We stand behind our work. If you experience a problem directly related to our service within 12 months of collection, please bring the piece back and we will review it without additional charge.
This does not apply to watches that have been opened, adjusted, or subjected to damage after leaving the workshop. General wear and ongoing ageing of parts are not covered.
Escapement takes reasonable care with every piece entrusted to us. Our liability for any loss or damage arising from our service is limited to the cost of the service provided, except where loss is caused by our negligence.
We are not responsible for consequential loss, loss of sentimental value, or for the performance of a movement beyond the scope of work agreed. Vintage and antique pieces carry inherent risk during any technical intervention; this will be discussed with you before work proceeds.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok.
